WC26 — unofficial 2026 football tournament companion · Last updated 10 June 2026

WC26 is a free fan-made app with no accounts, no ads, no sale of data, and no cross-site tracking. This page describes the small amount of data the app handles and why.

What we collect

Anonymous usage beacon.

A random identifier generated on your device (not linked to you), the coarse region you picked in the app, and whether the app runs in a browser tab or as an installed app. We record one "open" event per device per day and an "install" event. Used solely to understand how many people use the app. Retained for 90 days, then deleted.

Notification subscriptions (only if you enable notifications).

Your browser's push endpoint and its delivery keys, the teams you follow, your alert preferences, any kickoff reminders you set, your region, timezone and app language. Used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for. Deleted when your subscription expires, fails permanently, or you disable notifications.

Coarse location (country).

On first load, our server reads the country code our hosting provider derives from your IP address so the app can suggest your local broadcaster and timezone. The country code is stored on your device only; the IP address is not stored by the app. You can change region at any time in Settings.

Aggregate web analytics.

Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, first-party, aggregated page metrics (no individual profiles).

On-device storage.

Your settings (teams, region, timezone, language, reminders) live in your browser's local storage on your device and never leave it except as described above.

What we don't do

Where data lives

The app is hosted on Vercel; subscription and beacon data are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. Both act as infrastructure providers processing data on our behalf. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
